Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council Troop #1116, St. Libory, IL

Current Activities

We started our meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the Girl Scout Promise, and the Girl Scout Law.

The girls started the Christmas party by coloring 1 or 2 Christmas pages. The Christmas pages will be taken to Tom’s Supermarket in Freeburg to be displayed for Christmas.

The girls completed a snowman craft. All of the snowmen looked great. They also played Christmas Bingo. Everyone played until they got a “bingo” and received a candy cane.

After a quick clean-up, we had refreshments. We had a great variety of foods to choose from. Thank you to all the parents that brought a snack in.

We then played a game of “Pass The Present”. We drew names to see who would open the gift each time. The gift was wrapped about 22 times. Eva was our winner! She received a $5 gift certificate to McDonald’s.

We finished a little late because of the party, but we did get in a quick friendship squeeze to end our meeting.

Important Information

We will not meet until next year, so I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2008.

We may be changing a few things after the first of the year due to Carol’s work schedule. We will keep you informed as soon as we know what changes will take place. It should not be too much of a change though.

We are in the process of planning a field trip to see High School Musical: The Ice Tour at the Scottrade Center. It is on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:30 am. The tickets are $15.50 for each person and the money is due by January 9, 2008. I will send out a permission slip right after the first of the year.

We have also printed up a Christmas coupon for the field trip if anyone would like to use it as a stocking stuffer. We have had several parents take one. Just let Carol know and we will get it to you before Saturday.

We would also like to thank all the parents that have helped during the past meetings. Thank you again. If anyone has any questions or comments, please call Carol at 768-4603. Thank you, Carol, Jennifer and Sue
