We will again be asking to give the girls the responsibility of bringing their dues to each meeting in their dues holder necklaces that they have made. The dues are $1 per meeting. Please also remind the girls to wear their Brownie sashes, uniforms, and/or pins to all Brownie activities, including meetings.

We are collecting for our first service project for local animal shelters. A list of supplies needed was sent home. We will be collecting items until Oct. 24^th.

We have our first field trip of the year planned for Cold Stone Creamery on Oct. 17^th right after school. We are asking that each girl pays half of the cost of each field trip this year. We are also planning an extended overnight field trip to attend next spring or summer.

We starting our meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law.

We discussed the field trip to Cold Stone Creamery. Each girl needs to return their permission slip with their $2 fee at our next meeting if they will be attending. After breaking into groups, the Brownies also discussed the Cookie Caravan, the Cookie Sale and another field trip scheduled for Nov. 3^rd at Camp Wassatoga on Lake Sara in Effingham, IL.

The girls also started completing their activities for the 2007 Cookie Activity Pin and their Cookie Counts Try-It (if not completed). We discussed setting goals for our overnight trip and practiced selling cookies and making change with each other. We will be completing the activities at our next meeting.

After snack, the girls used some of their extra energy & played outside for about 10-15 minutes.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 10^th right after school until 4:30pm.

We will be having a small Investiture and Rededication Ceremony at our next meeting. Any parents are welcome to attend.

The girls were asked to volunteer to help with the Cookie Caravan on Oct. 5^th & 6^th. A sign up sheet was sent home. Please return it if you are able to help. We will be at Roger’s on Fri., Oct 5^th from 6-8pm, and Sat., Oct 6^th from 4-7pm. We will also be at Wenneman’s on Sat., Oct. 6^th from 9-noon and at the Village Bank from 9-11:30am.

We will also begin our Cookie Sale on Oct. 13^th. I will be sending more information home at the next meeting.

The Brownie girls will also be learning about the activities to Bridge up to Junior Girl Scouts during this year.
